On the afternoon, 30th, March, the first round of the 2019 Chinese Bridge in Eldoret, Kenya was successfully held by Confucius Institute at Moi University (CIMU). A total of 26 contestants participated in the first round. The aim of this selection was to find Chinese learners with good Chinese ability, outstanding talent and hard work, and to give them the opportunity to show themselves, communicate with each other, and move up to a higher level.
The selection was divided into two parts: reading a text emotionally and a talent show. The judges scored the contestants based on their Chinese pronunciation, personal charisma and their talent.
Audience
After explaining how to score, arrange the competition parts and showing speech skills, the competition started.
The contestants were on their best condition that day. Classical dances, guitar playing, Chinese songs and Chinese Kung Fu are so amazing.
Three of students stood out for their recitation and talent. Peter read off the script, correctly divided sentences, and also used body language, the contestants and the audiences were impressed. Ou Han sang "the girl from the opposite side" as he playing the guitar, and when his soft voice and the sound of his acoustic guitar merged, he won the hearts of a group of girls. Rose's classic dance "flower in the rain" was soft but powerful, as if she really turned into a rose in the rain.
Talent Show
After an intense competition, judges finally selected six students through discussion to enter the training course.
At the end of the event, the judges presented awards and prizes to the winners, marking the end of the event.
